Squier Vintage modified Series Offsets Coming to an END !!!???

Post by nickp585 » Tue May 22, 2018 4:02 pm

Hello all, Im new here but have been lurking probably for over a decade. Just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention that the Squier Vintage modified offsets are indeed being phased out as Im writing this post. The Vintage modified Mustang has been RETIRED. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: Musicians friend and guitar center no longer even offers them on their website. sweetwater has a fiesta red left, but the others are all sold out. I called musicians friend and was told THEY ARE NOT GETTING ANY MORE IN STOCK!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( I have the blue and red ones already, so Im set. If you are reading this and thinking of buying one, grab one now before they are gone. I still see a good supply on Ebay, but thats it. I couldnt get an answer on the jaguar or jazzmaster from this series, but they said they wouldnt be suprised if they were next...... :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp:

They made a ton of these so they won't be hard to find on the used market in the future.

These were stupid popular I thought? Getting rid of the VM line doesn’t mean an end to the guitars I hope. Maybe a few new colors with some slight spec changes thus resulting in CLASSIC VIBE COMMINATYAAAAA

Thanks for the heads up! Sad news (or good news because it means they'll replace the best series they've ever done with something even better? Jarman-Musuars and Jagstangs and other cool stuff? We can hope... Right...?)

Checking UK/EU websites, both Anderson's and Thomman no longer list the white VM Mustang.

I know they made a ton of these, it just that I can totally see these going way up in price afterwards because they are great instruments and popular. I bought one of the last squier cyclones in lake placid blue from musicians friend back in the day when they were blowing them out at $129 bucks and sold it like a fool :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: now those squier cyclones are fetching $375+ used...... :( :( :( I hope they do bring them back in different colors though, I would LOVE a daphne, lake placid blue, surf green, or a sunburst! :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

Good riddance. I hate the VM Mustang, it was the worst guitar I have bought this century. :k They could much do better.

I can understand the demand for Cyclones because there's not many options out there, but I hope no one pays an inflated price for a used VM Mustang.

As much as one can dream, I don't think they'd drop these for even more specific models like the musguar, jagstang or comp stripes. I won't miss them as I think they were always over hyped, and as someone said, you can easily find them used anywhere.

Honestly, I was hyped about these when they were announced, but I've yet to play one in a store that I thought wasn't shitty in some way or another, either too heavy or had playability issues I didn't want to have to address once at home. I like to tinker, but not if it's going to end up costing nearly as much as the instrument itself. Rather save a bit longer and get something more complete and ready to go out of the box. I'm lazy though.
People have gotten lucky, as we see here on OSG. Some really good ones, I just never had the luck of finding one myself.

This could explain JMJM coming with "Classic Vibe" stickers

Good to know. I hope they're replaced with new, cool options.
I'd like to see more bottom-dollar affinity and bullet series weirdos!
I'd also like to see a few more basses of all sorts, but especially something like that cribs/jarman bass with the Bass V style body.

This would be incredible news. CV guitars are ridiculous value.

Is it possible they're just switching from Rosewood to Indian Laurel as they did with the VM VIs? They've got Indian Laurel models on the Fender website now.

I’m pretty sure this is the case.
