For the boutique market, these are extremely competitively priced. In my opinion, no Fender can come close to one of these. In this price range, again imo, only Danocaster is in the ballpark. Other companies making comparably good guitars are way more expensive. I'm talking about in the Fenderish style, I don't have much experience with other guitars like PRS, Gibson, etc.

I feel the need to moderate my statement a bit. After thinking about it, there are a lot of companies making nice Fenderish guitars in the 3k range. My personal favorites are Novo and Danocaster.

What a great guitar! I wouldn't be concerned about the finish crack - disappointing when it happens I know but it's because it has a lovely thin finish which sometimes does this.

If the OP or any other serus J player reads this I'd like to ask about the size, shape and balance of the guitar. If my favourite body shape is regular JM, is this similiar feeling when playing stayed or standing? Based on pictures it looks bit bigger, but how does it feel?

If somebody has regular JM and serus J both, I'd love to have comparison pics with guitars having backs against each other.
