When "Be Here Now" came out is honestly the last time I can personally remember hearing an Oasis song on the radio that wasn't "Wonderwall," "Champagne Supernova," or "Don't Look Back In Anger." I think I heard a High Flying Birds song once. His per capita popularity over here is nothing like it was in the 90's, but there are still some yanks that recognize a pretty top notch songwriter when we hear one. I'm sure in a lot of the bigger cities, the shows would be packed. But here in Pittsburgh there was a HFB show that didn't sellout a 500 person venue.guitarsammy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 8:29 amThis is going to sound arsey, but some of you guys seem to be in the US, and you’re actually into Noel Gallagher? Is he popular over there?

In weird Chicago music trivia, one of my friends in university (he was working in the library when I knew him) ended up opening for Oasis on their 1st US tour.

Oasis was/has been one of my favorite bands from “Definitely Maybe” on, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is my current favorite act.guitarsammy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 8:29 amThis is going to sound arsey, but some of you guys seem to be in the US, and you’re actually into Noel Gallagher? Saw him this past March in Dallas. He was great. The whole band was.
I don’t think he’s terribly popular here in the U.S., but there is definitely a following.

I hear more Oasis songs now then in the last 15 years or so. There is a 90's revival and young folks rediscover Oasis. I use to be ashamed to be an Oasis fan, now they are en vogue.Scarabeus wrote: ↑Sun Sep 23, 2018 5:16 pmOasis was/has been one of my favorite bands from “Definitely Maybe” on, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is my current favorite act.guitarsammy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 8:29 amThis is going to sound arsey, but some of you guys seem to be in the US, and you’re actually into Noel Gallagher? Tim Smith got Noel into Nashs. Tim lives in my town and he told me about it.

Yeah, he more of a Fender guy now.
I remember him saying in one of his many interviews that he would have liked to have played more Fender during Oasis, but it just wrecked the whole set-up as his rig was set for humbucking Gibson and Epiphones.
Jazzmasters are just the cool thing at the minute. And rightfully so. Still the sexiest shape of all guitars.
