NGD: Valentines J Mascis MIJ
In the midst of my valentines date I got a message from a guy locally that I was talking about picking up the JM in question
I start geeking out, shes laughing, i'm in love
she gives me a ride to go buy it
I'm not sure if he was strapped for cash, but I got this on a DEAL.
I'm confused as to two different models of this guitar say basswood or alder.
I'll play it for a little while.
Thoughts for my taste, bridge, pickguard, pickup swap
Here's some pics, I know not much about it, Serial T016402 2007-2010
Slightly heavier than my VMJM, not by much

Super hot! I used to have one of those. The neck was really nice.

The Lee Renaldo won't fit without changing some pickguard holes.
I have one as well. I did end up swapping my pickups and put a normal mij style black guard on mine.
Also it has a slanted tuneaumatic bridge on it, so instead of plugging and drillong it for a standard style jazzmaster bridge, i used a roller bridge that dropped onto the existing post and had room on the post holes to use set screws to adjust the angle of the bridge to straight.

First Jazzmaster I see with a fitting color scheme using the anodized pickguard. Woah man, that's pretty! I thought J only had that purple ugly as hell Jazzmaster as his sig many years ago.

Mine was alder and was way too heavy. I sold it due to the weight.
Best guitar I've ever owned for lead playing besides my SG Standard.
Regret selling it sometimes, but then I remember how heavy it was.

Had the chance to buy a loaded body off one of these for stupid cheap years ago, still kicking myself majorly for letting that one go... Love it!
