Still it kind of amazes me that Fender would put something like this out (if not a hoax).
That would be epic if all this "Parallel Universe" crap was just a viral marketing hoax designed to get people talking about Fender, and priming them to have a positive reaction to their actual, not-ridiculous 2018 lineup.
Probably not, though.

I often visit tdpri when I'm bored @work and interestingly enough people there seem to be more positive or should I say "open minded" about the "parallel universe" "line" ... I guess it's more hideous and unnatural for us in our echo chamber than for the everyday guitar player aka target market ... Don't you think?... To me those "designs" are also ridiculous if you could make them more tasteful so easily (see examples in namm rumors thread) ...and then the price - 1800eur/2200$ for a hideous partscaster-done-wrong ? *wtf*

Hmmm, interesting. Like a classic misdirection setting up the big reveal. Fender and their evil genius marketing director.
The more I think about it, this Jag Strat is way beyond cosmetic and has the potential for more sonic possibilities than the other mashups. Not many have made long scale Jags (Andrew is actually the only one I recall). Few have installed three Jag pickups. Put that together with (possibly) a Strat style five way switch for some in-between combinations and whatever the upper control plate does and it's pretty intriguing.

Look again at that Jaguar Strat. Did that upper control plate come from another Fender model, or is that a new part?
All the other hardware (metal and molded plastic pieces) on all the other Parallel Universe models obviously comes from other Fenders. I wonder if that's a part for a new Jag that we haven't seen yet.
Good catch!

2. I think the tele jazzmaster frankenstein thing looks even worse than the strat jag. That tremolo looks absolutely horrible where it is. It needs wood behind it. To me, it just looks clunky and haphazard. Hard no. (again, interesting idea, poor execution)
I think the positioning should make it have a nice traditional Jazzmaster sound.

I think another disclaimer should go here..."IF these are real".
I still don't think we know if these exist outside someone's imagination.

I admire your optimism (and hopes for a better future),
but I do believe these are a legit, done deal. They just leaked early so there's no official word from the mothership.
It's the same with Apple when one of their upcoming releases gets spoiled or leaked...they keep quiet and don't acknowledge it (other than maybe making a passing comment or joke about it during the official unveiling presentation). These will show up at NAMM in two weeks and the rest of the world can slap their foreheads and yell "WTF?!" in complete confusion and exasperation.

Yeah we do. They showed up on dealer sites with Fender copy. They’re real. Sorry.

Yeah. Mod number one would be a Wronski switch plate... setting the switch at an angle *might* help. Might.

Awful, awful embarrassing name, though I guess it's perfectly pitched at flip flopped and Hawaiined blooze daddies that have never been in trouble with anyone but the doctor monitoring their cholesterol.
The naming culture of pedals and guitars is mortifying to me and it's getting worse.

I think the idea is that it’s a “troublemaker” because it lifts from Gibson.

The blue Troublemaker is quite nice take on the tele paul concept imo and the tele with jazzmaster outfit could be nice if the put some effort in an actual design for that pickguard and didn't crumble the vibrato right on the edge of the body. But that jag strat is simply the worst execution of a concept I've ever seen. Want a cool crossbread between a jag and a strat? Well, it's not that complicated:

You think? Looks more like they are using the language of Gary Moore.
Btw an exclusive spy shot if the Fender mood board.
