A Les Paul, Tele Deluxe and Cabronita had a threesome (and somebody got pregnant).

Although, of everything pictured above, this is the one I like the most (probably because of the color, because I'm not a humbucker, lots-of-knobs and/or binding kinda guy).

These are all so weird. And not "good", Pawn Shop series weird. But "we got the new intern drunk, blindfolded him and turned him loose on the factory floor to see what would happen" weird.

I thought the exact thing when I saw an out-of-context pic of that JagStrat yesterday.

"Somebody's being a wise-ass in Photoshop, taking a jab at Fender...".

You can imagine my surprise when I learned, two hours ago, it's an actual model.

"Wait...what? This is real?!? Call the cops!"

The sad thing is that it could have been so good. Jag trem, maybe the upper plate, the 50's chrome Strat lower control plate, and a strat pickguard modded for the upper horn (because it already works with the body and the lower control plate).

I kind of like that one. I don't know if I'd buy it over an American Pro Tele Deluxe, but I'd give it a serious look.

I was about to write that same thing in another thread. I could sit in Illustrator for 30 minutes and make this concept look so much nicer, simply by having the pickguard and plates conform/work with the Strat body perimeter a little better. It's a salvageable idea, but that current pickguard/plate layout just isn't attractive at all.

With a few tweaks, it could be a quirky, cool Pawn Shop-esque type of thing. No, it wouldn't be for everyone (but neither is a regular Strat, or a Jaguar). But it would at least look like someone put a bit of thought or effort into it.

Ha ha ha, I don't regret my resolution not to buy any new guitars this year, they're making it easy for me to get off the GAS. These are just mashups, nothing new here but the pickguards. At least the Meteora has a new body, it's suddenly looking more appealing...

A lot of people could make better, more aesthetically pleasing Jag-Strat mashups. Just like a lot of people have made better mashups of telecasters and jazzmasters, jaguars and mustangs, etc.

Fender needs to copy a little better the people who are using their own ideas, instead of trying so hard to appeal to Gibson fans who still won't give a fuck about Fender (other than maybe a straight telecaster) once this is done.

These are both awful. A strat with a bunch of jaguar crap and a jazzmaster with a telecaster body, yuck.

I would be interested in a SSS Jazzmaster if your listening Fender...

Its been a long strange fantastic voyage since OSG started

Fender have come out with some amazing guitars since then. All we all wanted then was cheaper versions of JM's and Jags and now we have this !!

If i ever see one of those Jaguar Strats I'll probably buy it, just for the sake of having one. Fender will probably never make another guitar like it

It is just a mindboggling sight.
