Italia guitar.
Hello. New guy here. So I getting for Christmas an Italia Mondial Sportster. I found it used with one nick. When I get it I will have new strings on it. Oil the neck also. Sorry if the post is in the wrong place in the forum. It is an LP shape. Wilkerson that makes Wilkerson pickups makes the brand. They look like old vintage Airlines of the 1960's. And play better than the Airline reissues at the Airline site. Mine is a Korina body and Fiberglass top. A cool routed top. Classic style machine heads.
As I said I do not get it until Christmas. It has 2 jacks. A hidden piezo under the bridge. For that acoustic sound. So now some questions. I looked up a lot of info on the brand. So has anyone played any guitar from the Italia brand? Does anyone here own one? Any info or tips you can share? thanks for the reply.

I would have posted in the "non-offset" section, but maybe that's just me.Donny Scott wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 2:01 pmDid I post this in the wrong spot? I thought since it said new and reissues it should go here. Sorry if it is in the wrong place.
As for the guitar, I've been trying to decide between one of these and a Dupri dual-tone.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

Have you played any guitar from the brand itself?

I want one of the Italia sitars but never got it, found a Jerry Jones one.
Your guitar looks cool, let us know what you think.

Re: Italia guitar.
i've owned 2 Italias and loved them both.
i had a Rimini 12 string...it was a great playing, sounding and looking guitar! i sold it because i thought i wanted a Ric.
i also had a Mondial with the dual outputs. that, too, was a killer guitar. it's made of fiberglass, so it takes some getting used to; but it was light.
like the Rimini, it was a solid guitar and well put together.
it was a lot of fun playing it through an amp and a Pa. the acoustic sound of the Piezo was full and rich and warm. it was the best feature of the guitar. if you only listened to it, you would think it was an acoustic.
there wasn't much definition in the HBs...but they weren't terrible.

If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

I bet that Mondial would be pretty badass with a good set of P-90s.

I think the Italias look cool. I watched a bunch of YouTubes & unfortunately they don't sound as good as they look. IMO
