Give us Sherwood green, Charcoal frost, Inca silver, Shoreline gold, Shell pink, Teal Green... Tired of reds, blacks, whites, surf green (which I love but is everywhere) and sunburst, though I understand everyone loves a good ol' sunburst.

I’d be an eager buyer for a teal Jaguar to match my Jazzmaster.

I haaaaaaaaaate sunburst. Hate.

I like Rickenbacker's Fireglow. That's the closest thing. Some companies make a cherry burst that is nice.

But I have not bought guitars I otherwise wanted because they were sunburst. I just cannot stand it.

I hope Santa brings us an AV66. Just imagine nitro B&B Offsets with matching headstocks :?
Hey man, my '66 is D&B.

Seriously, that would be cool. What I'd like to see is for Fender to just start building them all as Thin Skins.
My '66 is also D&B, but the marketing people would probably realize that '66 sounds better than '67 and is less associated with negative CBS-related perceptions.

The shouts are growing louder - DO YOU HEAR ME NOW, FENDER? OVER THREE OTHER PEOPLE are now calling for you to introduce an AV66' series of Jaguars and Jazzmasters. How much longer can you afford to ignore the screams???

+1 ... but I would appreciate some new or underused bursts (something other than combos of black/brown/red/yellow). I think my dislike for sunburst is entirely down to its ubiquity

This will probably not be a popular opinion, but my take on colors is this: If most people think it looks good with a tort guard, I’m done with it.

I suspect Fender sells the colors it sells because those are the colors that have historically sold the best. Just basic Business 101. There never seems to be a shortage of folks saying they want Shell Pink or whatever, but I suspect those unusual colors just don't sell well at all. I'd be willing to bet Shell Pink is the lowest selling color of the 56RI Strat, for example, with sunburst at the top. You can't really blame Fender for trying to make money. But we'll see I guess.

Rumor has it that Fender is pulling out NAMM as they're about to enter bankruptcy and restructuring. just kidding...

They'll probably introduce something high-tech that nobody wants, like a way to adjust your tone from a smartphone.

If they're really discontinuing the AV65, it'll probably be a bit longer before they introduce a successor. Maybe they'll put out a special edition Jagmaster with P90's in the meantime.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

Dude, I swear I had you in mind when I wrote that. I love your Jazzmaster, I've been meaning to do a bass vi build in that color.
However, knowing Fender, their Teal Green wouldn't look like yours :/

Who did your refin btw? Do you know what they used to source the color?

New colors will just mean the inevitable sinking feeling when I realize they were too cheap to do a matching headstock.

Too cheap doesn't make sense though, just charge another $100 or whatever.

How is lake placid not in the all time best selling colors? Insane that I can't get a Jazzmaster of any tier in that color without giving up my first born

Fender never does anything very cool anymore. They just crank out the hits, and they are good hits, but never excite me in any way. A very conservative company.

I am looking forward to whatever Gibson blows out this holiday season, though. Last year it was those fun M2 guitars for $260, and while I traded mine it was still a lot of fun. Some years before that they had a wonderful Les Paul Special Jr. for $550, and that was a wonderful deal also. I might get something like that again if they do it. Gibson does cool holiday stuff.

Fender doesn't.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Gord Miller. I hired him because he convinced me he would get the color right, and he did.

I’ve seen a couple of recent CS guitars in teal that look close, but for years Fender did it as more of a dollar-bill green than true teal. It’s a Ford color and apparently the old-Mustang shops mess it up too.

I bought one of those blowout Gibson LP Jr. Specials that year. It's a great Guitar! What a deal!

The Fender CS Rep says they will be at NAMM but other than a few new colors is tight lipped.....

I'd love to see a return to more cool 50's & 60's Ford & Chevy colors.....other than the same 3-4 year after year after year......
