Re: Probably the coolest thing I've seen in a while
The builder is a member here, no?!
Copy seems like fightin' words to me---for the honor of both Slowdive and Sonic Youth. Playful fightin', but I'll fight 'em. Kind of confused because a psychedelic bookstore basement seems perfectly consonant with shoegazers and art rock wusses, like me (although, don't we all have varied tastes?).
Anyway, my only serious critique is the lack of straight-pull headstock design, although I can't imagine that was done without intention and consideration.

lol didn't read the description. Just saw someone post them on FB and researched the site. Yeah, those are fighting words to me also. Never the less, it's a cool looking guitar. Not something that's hasn't been done, but they are at least doing it well.
I'm going to ask them to make me one more "shoegaze" and see what they come up with

Seems like a nice guitar, but it's definitely not the coolest thing i've seen in a while. Its just like the Prisma Toledo but in a weird paisley finish I would never want.

A Les Paul with a Jazzmaster vibrato and body. It's niche!

Never bothered to check, but now that you mention it appears the neck is maybe glued in. I'm sure they're probably flexible with pup styling.Horsefeather wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2017 9:46 pmA Les Paul with a Jazzmaster vibrato and body. It's niche!

Texas T.. She calls to me... Sweet Texas T...
T = toast.
I'm drunk, and not good at lyrics. Cool guitar.

It looks like they do have t-shirts. Unfortunately, none of them say "Moist Tone".

I think it looks great too, actually. I think I remember watching some videos of him experimenting with applying fabric to bodies.Unicorn Warrior wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2017 6:01 pmlol didn't read the description. Maybe it'll be a gateway drug!
Not really my niche, but I totally respect it.
I really like the headstock of that Prisma Toledo!

Wait... so... Dinosaur Jr, Swervedriver, MBV, Sonic Youth, Ravonettes, Sonic Youth, Queens of the Stone Age, etc... are all those bands 'Wuss Rock'??? I mean, sure there are lots of bands that play Jazzmasters that aren't heavy, but really? Yeah, those are definitely fighting words.

Re: Probably the coolest thing I've seen in a while
This thing checks many of the boxes for things that I consider a waste of a JM:
1) double PAFs
2) No pickguard
3) tacky finish
There are just SO many guitar shapes that look better with double PAFs. Every Gibson. Telecasters. Even strats and mustangs do it better. The JM body is just so big and those pickups are just so small. And they're ubiquitous - you can buy literally any guitar under the sun with two PAFs, and nearly all of those shapes suit them better.
Same for pickguard-less JMs. Especially for pickguard-less JMs. Put those small pickups on that giant surface area, and omit the pickguard? It's just so much flat real estate with no lines breaking it up.
But then again, you need to see as much of that hideous paisley as possible, so you wouldn't want a pickguard getting in the way of that.
Hard pass.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.
