Interesting that the rear control access panel is mounted "proud" (like a pickguard), vs, being inset like you normally see rear panels done (at least that's how it looks to me, going by the shadows and highlights along the edge). Playing it naked might be uncomfortable and leave some marks/lines. And if there was ever a guitar made to play naked...
I like that shape, but then again I'm hanging out at this site so that's hardly a stretch.
I've seen this style (JM) without pickguard done well and I like it. I prefer a big, goofy pickguard, but there are a few examples at redrocketguitars.com that do the no-pickguard Jazzmaster-style body and look pretty good to me (it helps that they have binding and a sparkle finish, I suppose).

Having a hard time seeing how paisley and Texas go together? Janis Joplin maybe? It certainly doesn't seem tuff if shoegaze is wussy. Didn't think people still used that word. That word at least screams 70s, the paisley screams hippies to me. Dirty stinking hippies that sold out and made a corporate radio hit...we built this city on rock and roll...level hippies. I could see John Mayer or Steven Segall playing one of these, but I wouldn't

It's not something original. Kauer did the same thing. I think it's the same scale and 3X3 headstock and what not. I get that it's not a JM because not everyone wants a JM then why keep the one thing they all complain about (the trem and bridge)? I just don't get the whole Les Paul players just dying to play an offset that doesn't even really look classic. At the end of the day I am just turned off by the way it was marketed. The world is full of JM's for the people that hate JM's...G&L, Suhr, even Fender themselves. Pitching it like it's something interesting and insulting the people that like the guitars you are ripping off just seems like a weird move. But hey...maybe it will work.

I’d rock that
So it’s not your traditional vintage jazzmaster, who cares. There’s enough of them around. You can scoop them up at $5000+ a pop all day for all I care.
Me, I’d rather have something a little different... like this.
I think it’s bad ass!

Seeing as how everyone loved the OP guitar so much, we decided to make another one. This is mine. Pretty much the same spec as before, except I asked Tim at Sunday Handwound Pickups make me a set of his Fat Jazzmaster pickups in a HB casing.
It's totally bad ass.

I mean, that's great paisley or whatever you call it. No two ways around that.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

With #metoo and the current climate, why would you choose to market a guitar in a way that's going to alienate huge portions of the country (not to mention the vast majority of potential female buyers). Even if I wanted a LM that sounds like a Les Paul, I wouldn't buy a guitar with that marketing.

This one I like. I love analagous color schemes, especially blue with violet. Now I can see the appeal, it's basically a Les Paul, minus all the things I hate about Les Paul's.

Kind of late to the party here, but the guitar advertises masculinity...and is finished with flowers? Paisley is possibly the most feminine "Art school" finish you could ask for.

Give it a six-in-line headstock and make the body to neck finish transition smoother and I'd hit that shit.

I was made to “Wuss Rock”! Screw This ugly thing with black mismatch headstock...bad design choice.
I take my Offsets with the “Jazz” left in, thank you very much.

I think that most of the posters here have missed the irony/sarcasm in the marketing hype for these guitars. I'm in the "It'd be a lot cooler with a pick guard." club, too, but I dig the paper finishes and imagine these are pretty darn fun to play. In fact, I'm not sure that I'm bold enough to rock a guitar with a finish like this! Well done on the blue guitar, Sonichris!
