I know it is being picky but it just seems like there would be more options for a custom shop. At the very least, more than one radius for the neck & the option for a matching headstock, not just a few more colors & choose your own pickguard. I would just love to see more flexibility in their options.leokula wrote:marqueemoon wrote:rank wrote: & the only neck option is 9.5 radius

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
Yes it's cool, and a step in the right direction. But Fender is losing a lot of people to Danocaster, USACG, Warmoth, MJT, Musikraft, etc. Hell I own a Dano, a partscaster Fender XII (with no real Fender parts - but made to spec) and a Musikraft neck on my Jaguar to get options Fender didn't offer.
I would love to pick out how I want a true real-deal Fender to look, matching headstocks, nitro, specific pickups, wood, radius etc. But paying 4K Custom Shop prices for a "master builder" is a %$#!ing joke, dude. That's vintage prices. Or two Dano's.
You can post all the eye-rolling jpegs you want; but Fender HAS all of the parts already. Why not add an option? Even if it's a 4+ month wait time.
I'm glad offsets are getting love on there, but it still has no interest to me yet. I hope it continues to blossom, however.

Honest question, because I've never done it, but can that be done through the custom shop? My guess is that the modshop is still injecting some customization into what's still a production line process. Maybe someone else knows for sure.Fender HAS all of the parts already. Define "a lot". Fender's offset business is a fraction of what they do. I guarantee the strats and teles kill all offset sales. And even then I bet if you figure out danocasters offset sales for a year it's not even a blip on the Fender radar.N0_Camping4U wrote:Yes it's cool, and a step in the right direction. Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
I'm sure if it was profitable for Fender, they'd have another gazilion options in there.
The moment they allow for such an array of customization from the get-go, they cannibalize their custom shop guitars.
Danocaster and MJT may be stealing some potential Fender customers with some oddball vintage guitar wet dreams... but they're making guitars in their garage one at a time and Fender is one of the 2 major guitar companies in the world.
I'm not saying either is better, it's just different companies taking care of different needs.

Re: Jazzmaster Now Available on Fender Mod Shop
The web site itself is a dumpster fire, at least for me. I can't get it to work at all, in any browser. Is anyone else having any problems? On Chrome, half the functions just don't load, and half the page is actually missing. On MS Edge (which I usually use for sites I suspect were tested on IE), it just freezes after selecting any option. On IE itself, nothing loads at all.
I would love to try this out.

I am having a hard time determining if this is an ironic comment directed at future bitching posts, or if that itself is a bitching post.marqueemoon wrote:9 is the default string gauge.
If the latter, then that's a whole new level of bitching!

You can't on PC, you need to buy a Mac if you want to special order a Jazzmaster.spacecadet wrote:The web site itself is a dumpster fire, at least for me. I can't get the site to work on PC or Mac (Edge, Chrome, and Safari) but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that none of the options will match the sheer beauty of the TVL.bacongrease wrote:FUUUUUUKtrustee wrote:This just opened up big stuff for the Am. If they offered the TVL in a dark blue or dark green (to fit with Oxblood being darker than CAR), I'd probably own one in each colour.
