NGD: Keith Holland Custom JM

Post by TeleFan62 » Thu Sep 21, 2017 1:29 pm

So, my wife bought me a Jaguar as an anniversary gift just about a year ago and, while I like it a lot, I’ve had one big problem with it…it made me want a Jazzmaster to go with it. Well, that itch has now been scratched, as I just picked up a Keith Holland Custom JM. Built by Keith here in Los Gatos, California, it’s got Mastery hardware, Duncan Antiquity pickups, and three really cool switches where the dark circuit controls are usually found: Cocked Wah, Phase Flip, and Series Parallel. Definitely not for purists or collectors, but I bought it to play it and I’m loving it so far.

Pretty cool. Can't go wrong with that color combo.

First off, your wife rocks. Nothing like a partner who supports your passions.

Secondly, that's a great-looking JM! I love the idea of those electronics. I also like "interesting" electronics in new instruments. Cocked-way is something I've seen before but haven't tried myself. Series-parallel is probably the best mod on Offset guitars in terms of gaining a great and useful tone with zero drawbacks.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Keith is an absolute wizard. My AVRI 57 Strat had a divot in the side that looked like a crowbar attack and his repair work was so flawless I still wonder if he didn't just buy a replacement body entirely.

Great to see he does offsets too.
