G&G Cases
Anyone who remembers my LPB Jazzmaster thread will recall I seem to have a thing with rubbish cases. The G&G my 62 AVRI came in is just one more such guitar-damaging heathen.
The compartment that's supposed to keep all your accessories secure let them out to rattle around with the guitar. There are now trem arm and allen wrench marks across various points of the front, back and sides of the body and a few nicks on the back of the neck where previously there were none at all.
FML.
Just wanted to vent that. Thanks

I never had a problem with mine.
There is a strap with button on the compartment; I use it.
Did you lock yours?

I've had the same situation with my Jazzmaster case. There is a button there which either doesn't work or isn't sufficient. They aren't that good of cases, really, for all the hype.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Re: G&G Cases
Yeah I did. The problem is that the latch is only on one side. The other side has warped a bit so when the case is carried around or moved about when, oh I don't know, you take the guitar out for a gig and put it in your car and carry it around a bit, the stuff falls out. This had evidently happened to the previous owner as there was a uniform area of concentric imprints on the body from the connector of the retro lead they bundle with these.
I'm just whinging, you don't have to placate me, though thank you all the same!

I realize that your level of 'complaint' is pretty minor here... so don't think that I'm trying to be all harsh about this, but...
Just put that shit in a small bag or microphone case. There are at least 10 free solutions to this that are lying around your house/apartment that will allow you to never have to think of this again.

I realise there are solutions, that's fine. It even came with little bags that I can use.
Problem is, it's taken my guitar to get dinged up before I realised I even needed a solution. And that shouldn't be the case (HA! ) when cases are supposed to protect instruments from damage.
Honestly, cases are more trouble than they're worth. You're better saving yourself some money and sitting them on the passenger seat.

Re: G&G Cases
Ugh. Cases that damage guitars are one of my biggest pet peeves.
I've got a strat neck with a big depression behind the nut on the back, from where one such hard case (a new one too) lacked though padding, and the neck was pressing essentially on a squared piece of wood with only a little velour padding over top. I feel it with my thumb every time I play an open chord.
I use thick gig bags most of the time now. Soft surfaces all over the guitar, and accessories in a pouch on the front, away from the finish.

Re: G&G Cases
I don't really care for any hardcases anymore. I use Mono gigbags for everything.
