NGD: Ugly Duckling Partsmaster

Post by trstn » Fri Sep 15, 2017 11:31 am

Finally finished after nearly two years accruing parts, procrastinating and putting off doing the wiring

I love how it sounds and plays. It trashes the CIJ Jazzmaster I used to own. Questions?

Love. It.

Which pickups are in there? Is that an MJT body?

Love the decoboom guard.

Thanks Chipper, thanks Shadow, Yeah I had some starcaster knobs left over from when I tracked them down for my 2013 re-issue and spent hours upon hours scouring the web for brass roller knobs only for them to pop up on eBay a few weeks ago.

Decoboom's stuff is fantastic. I went for a budget option but I still think it adds so much. Really happy with the investment.

mbene, As far as I remember the body is from Musikraft along with the neck and pickups are for sure Jesse Loureiro's surf jazzmaster pair. They sound really really nice.

I like this a lot! It can be a cousin to my partsmaster. Mine's aged white, lighter relic, and with a decoboom guard. I know that with long term projects it never feels like it's a NGD, but looks like it would be appropriate to send and HNGD your way.

Sometimes it feels like too much black. I've been considering a neck with a maple fretboard. That would mean saying goodbye to the strat shape headstock which does bug me...but I'm really into the feel of this neck.

Not a relic guy but everything else is excellent!

I'm doing similar knobs on mine, and now I need to look up that guard...
