Jaguar case advice
I've been searching Yahoo Auctions for a case for my Jaguar. I'm not completely sure if it will fit in the ones I've found. Perhaps someone here can tell me if Fender cases that look like this inside would be OK, or are they only for strats and teles?

Re: Jaguar case advice
Unless the auction specifically states it's an offset case for Jags/JMs, assume it's a standard Strat/tele case (all those you show above look like that to me), which won't work for you.
Generally the Jag/JM cases have a rectangular storage compartment, whereas the Strat/tele cases have an angled compartment (like in the pics above).
Jag/JM cases are hard to come by. But keep looking, they do pop up from time to time. Also check ebay and reverb.

Thanks for your reply. I noticed the angled compartments too.
There's a relatively cheap one on Amazon, listed as "PRO SERIES CASE JAZZMSTR/JAG", but it has a different layout inside:
Any idea if this is OK?

After reading some more reviews, I've decided to go for the SKB case 1SKB-62. It seems most people are quite happy with it.

Yeah, that's a great case, especially if you ever plan to travel with the guitar.thomaskyhn wrote:After reading some more reviews, I've decided to go for the SKB case 1SKB-62. It seems most people are quite happy with it.

Unless you're planning on checking it in to hand luggage, then I would suggest going to your nearest machine shop and getting them to make you one from 1\8 th aluminum. I shudder when I think about how my suitcase looks
Seems like the baggage handlers say WHEEE GUITAR CASE FOOTBALL
In fact, make that 3/4" aluminum

I've checked in guitars a couple of times with no problems. Perhaps it depends on where you're travelling?Baldy wrote:Unless you're planning on checking it in to hand luggage, then I would suggest going to your nearest machine shop and getting them to make you one from 1\8 th aluminum. Re: Jaguar case advice
The first two G&G cases in the first post are excellent and pretty for traditional type cases. I have a brown/gold for my tele and a black for the JM.
I've read about inconsistent quality (made in USA), but both of mine are great. I recommend buying from someone easy to return to, or try/test in person first.

Fender has a very nice ABS molded case similar SKB's for a few $$ less. It's part number is 0996112306.

I was considering this one for my Jazzmaster for awhile, but then decided to go with the SKB and I couldn’t be happier. Plus SKBs have lifetime warranties for the original owner as long as you retain your proof of purchase.mike fried wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 9:52 amFender has a very nice ABS molded case similar SKB's for a few $$ less. If this is the case for the new American Pro series, those looks pretty durable and well-padded.mike fried wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 9:52 amFender has a very nice ABS molded case similar SKB's for a few $$ less. It's part number is 0996112306.
Edit: Just checked the part number and it is indeed the same case. I love the old classic style C&G cases and have quite a few of them, but have to say this new deluxe molded case looks to be a functionally superior case.

Re: Jaguar case advice
Do you know if anyone is making a form-fitting case for the Jaguar instead of the rectangular case? Form-fitting cases are easier for me to pack instead of the larger rectangular cases.
While we are at it, are there in quality gig bags that fit a Jaguar?

Just want to say try and avoid the G&G cases. Bloody heavy. And the pocket flap is notorious for letting your trem bar out to roll around and "play" with your guitar's finish.
Hiscox cases are very good but I don't know if you get those over there. Very strong and light.

Re: Jaguar case advice
I got one of these to save wear/tear on a vintage case and I couldn't be happier. Light, sturdy, comfortable handle. Much more functional than the G&G tolex cases, or some tolex knock off. (Thinking of the old Rondo Music case I had for a CIJ JM years ago. yikes).mike fried wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 9:52 amFender has a very nice ABS molded case similar SKB's for a few $$ less.
