Absolutely killer with the black guard and bits of black peeking out from behind the white refin.

Are there any Toronado bridges out there you can slap on?

Here's what I did. Tornado plate off reverb.com for 25 bucks. drill 3 holes in the back. insert 3 tele bridge saddles off reverb.com for 15 bucks. $40 total conversion.

Couldn't stand the hum of the single coils. Here the new mod:
Neck: Alnico II (parallel wiring)
Bridge: Duncan Designed Distortion (parallel wiring)

Anyone got any long term thoughts on this one? This looks cheap enough to impulse buy today.

Re: NGD Squier Bullet MUSTANG
In the end, I found the neck a bit too easy to pull (I have a bad habit of pulling back on necks, and pulling the guitar off tune, when I am really going). I also found the thin body to be 10% annoying, but no more. Beyond that, I found the cheap throw-away non-adjustable humbuckers to get a fantastic dirty sound, with plenty of highs. And I don't even like humbuckers!
As far as cheap Mustangs go, I ended up keeping the Jay Turser knock-off (and eventually giving it to my niece so she can learn guitar). It has the correct controls, which I find give you a lot of tonal options, and the bridge and tremolo work better together. It also has, surprisingly, a more stable neck. And just $30 more, when you can find them...

But, if you can get past the weak neck, these are decent guitars and great mod'ing platforms.

That Jay Turser looks cool! Thanks for the link.
I'm still learning guitar so I don't think I'm pulling on the neck.
