Also, those fretboards look a bit clearer than I'm used to. Maybe Fender is already using pau ferro instead of rosewood already?
Yep, this summer is the switch to pau ferro for MIM instruments. Model numbers will change, too. If it's pau ferro it'll have a 3 at the end of the middle four digits: xxx-xxx3-xxx
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Exactly. I thought we called that a duo-sonic.
I can understand Fender not wanting to confuse people with the name Duo Sonic II for a body design that everybody who isn't aware of oblique Fender production history thinks is a Mustang. Why on earth they didn't just call it a Mustang II is beyond me.

really love that shell pink mustang, however not really sure about the pau ferro, looks really light comparing to a nice rosewood board... Will probably still get it though, can't say no when our fender overlords gives us shell pink guitars

I love my Fiesta Red Mustang Bass, and I definitely do not need two of the same bass, but the orange one is :?

Just checked out the offsets on andertons,it looks as if both the canary diamond duo sonic and the capri orange mustang bass will be FSRs. Also apparently the release date is this friday?

According to Fender's press release from Summer NAMM, here in the States they'll be available beginning Oct. 2. There's no mention of the colors being FSR and usually FSR's don't rate a series-wide rollout like this, especially paired with the news of the Am Pro new color. Perhaps the UK is getting the shaft with two instruments being available only as special runs?

Hi all. First time poster. So what is the general consensus around here on the American Pro JMs? Now that CAR is available, I'd consider getting one. Worth it? Better to find a used CIJ? All opinions appreciated.

Fantastic. I guess Fender bought another bulk order of CAR paint so the next 5 years of offsets can have that option. We really missed not having it on every offset model. No one was tired of it at all.

"Also, beginning Sept. 12, two new colors will be offered on American Elite series guitar and bass models; Champagne and Ocean Turquoise"

How has no one mentioned this? Champagne Jazzmaster? OTM Jaguar? sounds sweet

I'm just waiting for them to announce the FSR models with matching headstocks...available in CAR only :w00t:

But yes, that champagne and OTM announcement is quite exciting. Can't wait to see photos.
