NGD x2
I've been bitten by the Cyclone II (MIM) bug thanks to this great demo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RH9-86V_Itk. I found a Candy Apple Red on fleabay last week even though I would have loved the blue one like in the video. Last Monday, the same awesome seller put a blue one up for sale, so I jumped on it. Here they are:
Now, I don't really neeeed two Cyclones and I'm not usually a big fan of Candy Apple Red, but I have to say, this one is really gorgeous with the cream competition stripes. I like my blue guitars, though, so the blue one is definitely a keeper. The Daphne Blue Cyclone II color has quite a bit of a greenish hue to it when compared to my Daphne Blue Fender Nashville Deluxe Telecaster and is darker in blue tone compared to my Sonic Blue Squier VM Surf Strat.
For now, I'll hang on to both. If/when I decide to ever let the CAR Cyclone II go, I'll work something out with one of you Cyclone II fans here on OSG.

Thanks! My Johnny Marr Jag is missing from the offset wall as it is in my guitar tech's shop - I'm gonna give the Fender AV '65 pickups a try but I'll hang onto the stock Bareknuckle pickups if I decide to swap them back in.

Nice. A good friend of mine has a red Cyclone II just like yours. It's a great guitar. I've never had the luck of finding one for sale.

Thanks - If you are interested, I see that there are two CAR Cyclone IIs on Reverb along with some Cyclone H/S models. On eBay, there is one CAR Cyclone II and a new listing for a Fender Cyclone (MIM) with a Black finish/Tort guard as well along with some more pricey Fender MIM Cyclones selling out of Japan. None of them mine, for clarification.

I try as hard as I can to only buy local. Mostly because the Canadian dollar is bad right now and shipping is always insane because I live in Newfoundland. Thanks though. I can't wait until our dollar gets closer to the US again, so I can free up my searches.Snorre wrote:Thanks - If you are interested, I see that there are two CAR Cyclone IIs on Reverb along with some Cyclone H/S models. Always wanted a blue one. Awesome.
King Buzzo: I love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!

Thanks, Mark! That's my refinished Squier J Mascis JM. I swapped out the stock pickups for AV '65 pups - it's been a wonderful gigging guitar.markblack77 wrote:not to go off topic but the pink JM in the background is also very nice
It's a daphne blue but it is on the lighter side (lighter than my daphne blue tele).palesnow67 wrote:Just because i forgot, is the blue Cy in sonic or daphne blue? Nice collection!
