Re: NGD JAGMASTER 2008
My new mod:
As i barely use the neck pickup i decided to remove it.
Because i use a lot of Distortion and Fuzz pedals i tried to mod the bridge pickup to parallel mode.
More highs and more open sound.
I had a Alnico 2 pickup installed and wanted some more output so i put back the Duncan Distortion (a black one) also in parallel mode.
Result: much more snappier, brighter and more power.
Lika a Jagmaster mixed with an Esquire so i call it "JAGSQUIER"
Here a short demo of the sound. (All tracks with the Jagsquier plus Drumloop).

Re: NGD JAGMASTER 2008
Regarding your love of the pickups, I was given a set of Jagmaster pickups some time ago and am considering buying a Squier Affinity Jazzmaster, installing them in it. On another forum someone did a review of the Affinity Jazzmaster and stated that they preferred it's pickups to that of the Jagmaster. Any opinions?

I think the affinity Jazzmaster humbuckers sound pretty nice.

Iv always loved the Jagmasters. After 10 years of wanting one I finally picked one up for a steal at $120 Australian. Mine is a black standard series (without duncan designed p/us. I replaced the bridge with a duncan distortion too.
Where did you get the pickguard?

Ah thats right - I forgot some colours had tortoiseshell guards. Mine has a black one, which I think was unusual for the black bodied ones. I want to get a new one or have one cut so I can put a mustang or jaguar control panel on it.
Im liking the distressed look on yours btw.
