recommend me a HS offset guitar!
I'd love to get an offset guitar unbelievably badly. particularly a design which is curvy, and pleasing to look at (example NOT a hi-flyer)
however i'd like it to have a single coil in the neck and humbucker in the bridge. sort of 500-ish or less.
a colour like red or black, maybe seafoam green or surf green would be nice.
thanks guys

Fender Duo-Sonic HS sounds like it's right up your alley! Any major retailer will sell it to you for 500 or less if you ask nicely for a discount (or just buy on Reverb instead).

Look for a Fender or Squier Cyclone, they have a strat trem btw. The Squier one comes with a pretty carppy humbucker, decent single coil, don't know about the Fender.

I second the cyclone. They can be had super cheap and they have great necks.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

Duesenberg Caribou. Bit expensive but easy to play, sounds good and looks great.

One someone says offset, Humbucker/Single combo, and under $500 a Duesenberg Caribou would be the last thing I would think of.
Previous posts nailed it. New...go DuoSonic. Exactly what you are describing with the colors you are looking for a right in your price range. In the used market a Cyclone is a great suggestion.

With those restrictions, if you want something new, under $500 and humbucker-ready out of the box, the Fender Duosonic HS looks like the only option I could find.
What you ideally want sounds like a Kurt Cobain Mustang or a Blacktop Jazzmaster, but good luck with those. Are you just looking for the body-shape or do you want to preserve the unique features like the trems and electronics?

Re: recommend me a HS offset guitar!
I made an HS Offset based on the original run Blacktop Jazzmasters. I bought a custom 12" radius Stratocaster neck with a 24.75" scale length finished in tung oil and it feels great. I like the flatter 12" radius and I wanted to be able to use a standard tuneomatic bridge. It is wired with 2 volumes and no tone knob or switches. This guitar is not the most traditional Jazzmaster. My idea was to make a Fender Les Paul and this guitar came out even better than the sum of its parts. I just tracked with it in the studio and it sounds phenomenal!
You should be able to find a used HS Blacktop Jazzmaster for $500 or less.

I liked mine and you can find them used under $500 no problem. CIJ is a plus.
i actually had a blacktop Jazzmaster too but the quality was meh and it felt like it weighed a ton for some reason.
