NGD Offset "Micawber"
Hi,
my first custom made guitar ever arrived today It was build by a guy in Vienna (Austria) named Guido Frisina. I basically ordered an Offset Tele with Micawber configuration. The specs are: One-piece ash body, one-piece maple neck, gotoh brass bridge, Häussl Broadcaster bridge-pickup, Häussl 1959 neck humbucker. The tone and the playability are awesome, only thing that bugs me a tiny bit is the weight. I havent had a chance to weigh it yet, but its definitly a lot heavier than all my other guitars.
Here are some pics

Nice guitar! Interesting choice for wood and finish

Hi, the builder is just on Facebook, called Frisina Design, he has some quite intresting ideas, like building guitars out of used skateboards. I dont think he has a website.
And i am not from vienna... I am from Graz.
I am thinking about somehow weight relieving it, how much would routing or drilling under the pickguard bring ?

I heard from a guy building a skateboard guitar - maybe that'S him
Weight relief - swimming pool route under the pickguard removes some wood but not really that much that you'd notice
I have a walnut Jazzmaster with the same problem and thought about chambering it - but you can only do that beforehand and not when the body is already finished I think

Love the understated headstock logo, very subtle and nice to see. Looks like a great instrument all round, congrats!
