Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
These look very cool! Anyone own one? What do you think? how do they compare to VMJM's quality wise?

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
It's a mascis with no signature and some ugly red paint.
That would make it a fine, if vomitous looking instrument, better than the vm in my book.
Except fucking hideous beyond belief.

This is an excellent rectangle

Cream plastics and a mint guard would make that look 10x better.

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
These minor changes would turn it into a nice relatively inexpensive JM IMO. The JMascis JM is decent but I don't need another OW JM and I don't really care for gold pickguards or signature guitars. Really like the neck on that model tho.PixMix wrote:Cream plastics and a mint guard would make that look 10x better.

If they offered this in other finishes, I'd be all over it.

Red and gold is alright if it's Fiesta Red and gold or Dakota and gold, but not CAR. It just looks tacky. It almost works, but doesn't.

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
after all they hype I've heard about The Squier Mascis neck I'd like to try one. A pickguard swap wouldn't hurt though. I'd like a CAR Jazz and don't mind tuneomatics.

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
It is identical to the J Mascis. I bought one after trying them both and decided that for £150 less I could live with CAR. I'm just waiting on aged white plastic parts arriving, I've already got the pickguard swapped out.

Seriously, red is not my first pick in guitar colors, but lose the gold and black, and you can have this:
And you can have whatever you want if you're willing to spray one of these:

I don't understand why they put out a guitar with this colors.... i mean this is just ugly.
"Hey Jim.... we are doing a new line of deluxe Jazzmasters. I think surf green ones would sell really good."
"No Tom, lets make them red with gold anodized pickguards... thats ugly as hell."
"Ok Jim... but lets put black pickup covers on... that doesn't fit at all and thats what makes it totally cool."

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
It's an exercise to use up leftover parts as I understand it, hence the gold guard and TOM. The term arm on mine even has an white tip so that it doesn't go with the rest of the plastic parts. I can't fathom the use of the black parts though. It does sound and play brilliantly though.

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
Do these have the same pickups as Squier Mascis.
