Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
I was set to get one of these but couldn't pass up the JMJM for $349.99 & opted for it instead since it's the same Guitar as these & it's the same Guitar.
Hope it's equally as good!

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
I'm interested to see when these bodies/necks start showing up on the open market, might be a cheap way to build a solid partscaster. I agree that ditching the black plastic improves the appearance immensely. Would look pretty bad ass with a matching headstock and a parchment, mint, or red tortoise guard. Also, if like to give a plug for the "inverted scrub screws in the stock TOM thimbles" mod that would allow you to ditch the TOM for a vintage style bridge, if you are TOM-averse.

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
I wish Squier would pull the trigger and do the full J. Mascis and do the purple sparkle finish. I kick myself all the time for not getting one of those.

I kick myself for having one for 4 years and then trading it in a moment of gear boredom. Miss that thing so much. No neck has ever been as comfy for lead playing as that one was. Didn't hurt that it sounded amazing as well. It was HEAVY AS FUCK though.eboe wrote:I wish Squier would pull the trigger and do the full J. Mascis and do the purple sparkle finish. Finally caved...Mozmonster wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2017 11:39 amI've been absolutely GASing for this (trem version). I think I'd switch the pickguard to a red tort and change to cream knobs etc. Think that'd look great.
Absolutely great guitar. So comfortable to play. Also very pleased with how it looks now.

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
Lots of dislikes in this thread about how this guitar model looks. It does look rather garish. Although, Kevin Shields does have a metallic red JM with a gold scratchplate.
Re: the black pickup covers,: I just found out that the very earliest Jazzmaster (or a prototype) had black pickup covers (with the gold scratchplate). Maybe they initially chose black to give it a Gibson P90 vibe, as it was marketed for jazz players?

Where did you got that pickguard? Did you had to mess around with the roller knobs placement or something?

Just in case you don't get a reply from the OP, this very pic inspired me to get one of these guitars. I bought a red tort pickguard from EY guitar parts. Fits well and looks more or less the same as this pic. I think any pickguard with US specs will fit these.geisterfaust wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 3:56 am

Thanks! I wish i could find it on Europe tho so I don't have to deal with high shipping rates.
The EY pickguard is a perfect fit? I'll check that website out, might as well change the knobs and pickup covers when im at it. Can't decide between the brown or the red tortoise, OPs Jazzmaster looks insane now.

Re: Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster
Other than the rhythm circuits volume and tone rollers being slightly sunken into the EY pickguard (you can still roll them) it was pretty much a perfect fit for mine.
I'm based in the UK and have ordered from them a few times. Annoying shipping but I tend to bulk the order up with other things I need to make it worth it.
Otherwise you can probably get away with similar pickguards sold on eBay from UK/Europe. Aslong as they are USA spec I would hazard a guess that they are similar/the same as the EY guitar pickguards.

I got the pickguard from here:

Its the red tort 4 ply one - seems to be out of stock at the moment.
There were no issues with roller knobs or anything like that. It was just a simple drop in replacement!
I'm based in the UK too.
