Re: Question about the Bass VI
Not sure about this, but I think a baritone guitar is tuned "A to A" (or is it "B to B"), while the Bass VI is tuned E to E like a standard guitar, just one step down.

MatthewK wrote:True. I was a huge Cure fan at the time and used to wonder how they got that deep bell like tone on the lead lines, I figured it was the Jazzmaster and the Jazz Chorus, then I saw this photo in the NME and wondered is that a weird Jazzmaster? a three pickup Jaguar? If only there was an OSG to help. Now, of course, I have my own VI (MIJ 2012).
Oh man, I am not a Sunburst guy but that one is beautiful with the dark tort guard. Congrats on that beauty!
I am also a huge Cure nut. I had a VHS copy of "Show" and when I saw Roberts Bass VI I fell in love with the sound and the look of it. I thought it was the most beautiful sounding instrument I've ever heard on "Pictures of You" and High", both have Bass VI solos! I thought the same as you though, "Is is a Jaguar...is it a customized Jazzmaster?" I knew I had to own one one day. I had a 90's MIJ which was great and now I have a White Squier VM VI. Beautiful instruments...I'll always have at least one in my arsenal...but hopefully more in the future!

Re: Question about the Bass VI
This came up in another thread, and someone posted a nice picture of the differences between the position of the bridges and tailpieces of these guitars. Personally, I've only used the Bass VI as a bass and I love it. It's the only "bass" I've ever liked!
