Curiosity got the better of me so a quick trip on the interweb to thomannland l and I have a Squier Affinity Jazzmaster sitting with me in the studio !
Interestingly I have the exact model they used for their photos, it even came with a little card with a photo of it saying that "musicians all over the world have been admiring your product"... have you been admiring my product? :derp:
First impressions:
It's light, very well set up straight out of the box, large flat fretboard that feels good, nice low action. and ...sounds really good !
I'd got this for modding and wanted to use it to stick in various pickups I have lying around, change neck etc but maybe a strat neck will be enough for now.
It actually reminds me a lot of the Toronado, similar look/feel
After comparing with my other JM's, I can confirm it's NOT a shortscale jagmaster neck, will no doubt get a strat neck that is less flat, but the neck on it is pretty good really.

Great value for money, doesn't look or feel cheap at all, highly recommend this for the $

happy new guitar day, bob. cool that you got the one they chose for the photos. they wouldn't use one with any defects or imperfections as a main photo so it's probs 101% the best of what they had.

how does the body shape & width compare? the affinity mustang is thinner than other squier mustangs so i had wondered if that would be the case with the jm.

It looks to be exactly the same size as my CP jazzmaster, same weight too I'd guess. I've already ordererd a strat neck for it. The stock neck is very good though, just too flat for me!

Lee Ranaldo, Sonic Youth. Sorry, saw multiple vague references and had to share the correct info :)

There were a lot of different directions they could have taken the line that would have gotten me to open my wallet (is it just me, or is a CV offset series an obviously great idea?), but they didn't take any of them this year. No big deal, I already have my VM Jag and Jazzmaster and if I feel the need for a LPB version with humbuckers, I can buy a used one and break out the paint and soldering iron.
LPB JM/Jag would be a real Shut Up and Take My Money moment for me. LPB is my favorite guitar color and having a set of JM, Jag and Bass VI in the color w/matching headstocks is an eventual goal for me :) JM pickups, WRH, P90, I don't really care. I do enjoy the P90s in my Casino and a TV Yellow Epi LP I have, so whatever works

My Mustang Bullet HH arrived from the UK today.

It's quite nice. No surprises in terms of the quality from what I have previously read about them. The body is very thin (35mm).
The pickguard material is much nicer than I was expecting. It's nice and thick. I was expecting it to be a bit flimsy.
The black finish on the body is flawless.

Just curious where did you get yours from? I'm considering getting from overseas too but shipping to Australia is super expensive

Mine was from a UK store called guitarbitz but I don't think they have any more.
Keep looking though. I'm sure another will pop up for cheap.

Any word on the body thickness on the HH Jazzmaster? Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I couldn't find an answer.

I'm pondering getting one of the white Jazzmaster HH's and swapping on a different neck. (I'm pretty psyched that they didn't just stick on a Gibon-style stopbar/tailpiece. ...they always look out of place on a Fender to my eye.) Plus, the string ferrules look nicely aligned in all of the pictures I've seen.

Cool - I'm curious to hear the opinion of someone who isn't a guitar store!

It is a little over 1.5". Basically 1.5". I haven't had a chance to play it yet. It is still cold from shipping, but I took some pictures.
