Oh and the ferrules look great. :)

Thanks for the information! I suppose a Mustang-thickness body wouldn't be a problem for a guitar with no trem.

(edit: reply sent before I saw the picture above!)
Does the alignment of the string ferrules on the back look as precise as the website pictures? (...or does it look like it was hand-drilled by someone with their eyes closed?)

I did a quick recording with my cell phone that I am uploading to youtube. I will add it to my NGD post.

Some more info on at least this one. The pots feel nice and solid, not sloppy or loose like I expected. The toggle has no static between switching which I figured it might with a $200 guitar. The fret ends are nice and free of sharp ends. There doesn't seem to be any issue with frets being level. With open chords, I experienced no buzzing. Tuners feel solid and not sloppy. Really impressed with the build quality. I found no flaws in the paint either. In my VM Jaguar, there were little black flecks in the finish where black dust or something had fallen in the clear coat and been buffed over. Not on this guitar. I am pretty shocked. (In a good way.)

That would be the same body thickness as the new MIM Fender Duo-Sonic (around 5 millimeters thicker than the Bullet Mustang I just modded)

Great to see these landing in player's hands!

Got the guitar taken apart. (I want to get a white pickguard made.) I also wanted to stain the neck so it was less pale. Here are pictures. I know some people wanted more gut shots.

Thanks again for the pics - I placed an order for one of these yesterday.

I was wondering, are the pickguard holes in pretty much the same place as on a regular-ol USA/Squier Jazzmaster pickguard?

As a matter of fact the guard matches almost exactly. Here it is on one of the templates I bought for a Jazzmaster. Only thing that is off is the toggle hole slightly.

Okay.
So the modding has begun.
It's not easy to see in the pics, but the pickguard is aged pearl white.
I cut it for a singlecoil in the neck, just to give it back more of the Mustang look.
I won't be using this bridge but it's there for reference. I'll be fitting it with a top-loading one soon.

I got drunk and ordered a blue HH Mustang. Should be here in a few days.

It is a top loader hardtail. Just five screw holes that hold the bridge down. :D
