I prefer the original with the pearloid guard and the blacks pu cover.

I also like the racing stripe.

I'd say a mint green racing stripe would look mighty fine

I'm still liking this one best. Black knobs, switch tip and original tuners for now.

What about a black guard with white pickup covers and black competition stripes? I'm not sure if that's an option, but that's what I would do.

I like the look of the original fine. I'd throw some Strat lipstick pickups in it though.

Hadn't thought about it, but mint would look amazing with white pickup covers.

Personally, the white-on-white stock is something I dig...but we on OSG can rarely leave well-enough alone, so I understand the itch to immediately start modding.

I'll say it right now: I want one of these with a SD Twangbanger or the Novak tele-in-strat-size pickup in the bridge. Hardtail Mustang (i.e. duosonic) with a tele bridge pickup? Mmm...

Yeah - good idea - I'll have to wait and see how these original pickups sound first tho.

I have been playing my 1956 Musicmaster through a Line 6 AmpliFi 150 lately - and I can make it sound like everything under the sun - truly amazing - good fun!

Love These Mustang hardtails (Duo Sonics for crying out loud!!)
I really like the look of the mint guard on there. The original looks good though, so you could always swap it back and forth if you wanted.
I'm eventually getting one of the Olive Mustangs. I've played one of these already and it was great. Really good pickups.

OK - got the new Mustang for Christmas and really loving this thing - the neck is amazing.

Took off the pick guard to send to Tony Dudzik at Pickguardian for the new mint guard.

Wondering what the big round drilled hole in the center is for - maybe used in the manufacturing process?

I think that hole has something to do with how they mount the wood to the CNC machine

Speaking of a white-on-white Mustang hardtail, has anyone here compared the new Mustang with the new Duo-Sonic? Going by some YouTube demos the Duo Sonic pickups sound slightly hotter. Could this be true?

Nothing from Fender after I sent them an email asking the exact same question.

I would assume they are identical - not sure tho.
