This is basically my live rig!

Except it’s a 65 Reverberocket, because a VT40 is overkill (or was) for anywhere in NYC.

Hard to go wrong with an Ampeg and a DMM!

Done!

The trimpot inside sets the second volume level, which I have set to max for the boost channel

The external volume knob works with the boost knob to give you two footswitchable volume levels - like the original. Having it set up like I have means you can govern both with the external knob only - set that for your rhythm volume and the step on the left footswitch for your boost channel.

Right footswitch turns pedal on and off.

Left toggle changes hard clipping diodes
Right toggle changes soft clipping diodes

LEDs are red

BAM

Great thread. I’m currently using my MIJ Blue Flower Jazzmaster into a Xotic SL Drive into my Blackstar HT1 as my quick plug in and play set up so I guess I’d have to pick those. If I have a bit more time I’ll throw a fuzz face and an Echorec in.

Not an amp and drive combo I would ever have dreamt of but I’m really enjoying it, the amp is a great living room tube mini head and cab and the Xotic pedal is lovely; picked up for cheap on eBay on a bit of a whim.

this rig is a little loud, considering i don't use it outside of the house, but it is fun..

I've been to one World's Fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing i ever heard come out a pair of headphones.

i had v4s and vt22s as well but even vt40 was too heavy. couldn't imagine hauling one in the city when i lived there. ampeg is my favorite amp brand. i love the reverbrockets too, even the reissues sound better than a hot rod deluxe.

there's something about ampeg reverbs being so much better than fender to my ears

of my current stash

'65 Vox Phantom
Yamaha RA50 rotary
Colorsound Powerboost

Honestly I'm not really into valve amps for much. Took me years to realise, but all that warmth, smooth, mojo tone stuff basically just means 'dadrock/smooth'. Transistor amps have loads more snap to them. That said, got a 1961 Ampeg Reverberocket that desperately needs a service, so maybe that opinion will change ;)

Guys, I have some amazing news. I was waiting until the 17th page to let you know this is actually a genie wish fulfillment thread.

I will be sending you each what you listed in the mail. For those of you who already own your one guitar, amp, and pedal you will instead get twenty dollars (US) of Reverb credit; for those that don't 'believe' or support evil Reverb, you'll be getting some hand sanitizer.

Congrats! I look forward to all the great music to come.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.
