I've seen Sherwood Green AVRI62 JMs from 1999-2000 with the same Cruz sticker, or Cruz signature under the pickguard. It seems he was heavily involved in the production at least during the first year of the guitars, even the "normal" American ones.

I seem to remember reading in some Fender history that the AVRI JMs and Jags were developed by the Custom Shop after having studied vintage examples and releasing some one-offs in ~1996-1998, but who knows, that could be just marketing talk.

Congrats, and cool that about the '94 JM. I have the same thing since '98 but sans tremolo bar which I lost recently.
