Jazzmaster Am Pro II - 'Mystic Surf Green' vs 'Sea Foam Green'
I have a 'Mystic Surf Green' Am Pro II JM, and I occasionally see YT videos with that colour being called 'Sea Foam Green'. Example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCt_ZrtQ9AI&t=1391s (although he calls it Sea Chrome Green, as a joke, I guess)
Are these colours the same, or is the Sea Foam Green description just a mistake, as I can't see the Am Pro II availabe in that colour?
(Editied to remove confusion over name!)

Yeah, that’s just that YouTuber and his commenters calling it that.

I’m actually getting this color applied to a jaguar at MJT. Probably just a silvery ice green metallic on their part, or Firemist silver.

Well I wouldn't go that far but he's definitely a bit of a try-hard, and does that YouTuber thing where they try and bolster viewing numbers with giveaways that require you to unsubscribe from bogus junk email chains if you do, so I think he's more in it for the monetisation than making quality content (his videos are often twice as long as they need to be - if you need to tune the guitar just cut that out of the final edit, it's not difficult).IrishBread69 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 12:51 pmThat's a wonderful description of the guy

Anyway, back to the original thread thing. Fender is a company that calls metallic green Cosmic Jade so I suppose in some respects anything goes...

I think my original point was that I didn't think the Am Pro II was/is available in 'Sea Chrome Green', just 'Mystic Surf Green'.
I assume he has just made a mistake in the colour name in that vid.

Yep, I presumed the ‘Sea Chrome/Sea Foam’ thing was a joke, but still there is no Sea Foam for the Am Pro II, the one he is demoing is definitely’Mystic Surf Green’.

To add yet more confusion there’s a ‘Mystic Seafoam Green’ as well. A spanglier version of SFG I think.
Mystic Surf (L) vs Mystic Sea Foam (R)
I saw someone describe Mystic Surf Green as IGM (Ice Green Metallic) which made it sound more awesome.

There is only 'Mystic Surf Green' available on the AM Pro II though and the guy on the YT vid just got the colour wrong, I think, even though he meant 'Sea Foam Green'.

This side-by-side is super useful, but I don't like either of those colours. Maybe it's the light, but then again maybe not as the white balance doesn't look far off.superficial wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 12:43 pmTo add yet more confusion there’s a ‘Mystic Seafoam Green’ as well. The photo looks wrong. Mystic Surf Green is a beautiful fluorescent colour and doesn't look anything like the photo above. Must be something wrong with the lighting, I think. Mind you, it does change a lot in different lights.
Look on the Fender site to see a good representation of it.

Yeah as above the Mystic Surf looks off in those pics. There are a couple of other angles here but I still don’t think they captured it quite right.

Still, useful to see the differences.
