It looks like a Swope MG or a GTO.

Swope Wrayman

New model based on a Jazzmaster layout.

P.S. Jason is an incredible guitarist!

Really want to reach through the screen and take that Tele out of the bridge position.

Thanks everybody. Using your info I was able to find this video (interesting guitar, at least in Jason's hands):

I saw Dream Syndicate last night and got to see/hear hear this guitar in person. What a great looking instrument. It had the Descendant vibrato. Stayed in tune impressively well for how much he was laying into the vibrato.

Whole rig was some kind of dual channel fuzz into a MXR mini chorus, Tonal Recall, some kind of one knob boost?, and an Eventide H9 into a Verellen head and what looked like a 2x12 cab.

Unfortunately the fuzz really washed out the guitar in an unflattering way, at least for this venue. Clean or semi-clean it sounded really good though. Pickups seemed more P90ish to me. The switch between the pots might be series/parallel? Definitely looked like a 2-way.

saw the Syndicate last time they played there, Victor’s an insane player. when he got to waving the guitar around over his head, a fellow lister observed it was like he was trying to keep a fire hose from going out of control :w00t:

Oh that’s an uglier way more expensive and less feature-laden version of a Jazzmaster

To my eyes anyway ;) can’t make out the headstock - is it some kinda Shur?

Reminded me a lot of Ira Kaplan in that respect.

Also, re: the fuzz sound I think the Verellen gear he was using was borrowed from the opening band (Eyelids, who were great), so maybe not as dialed as what he normally plays through.

Yes. This.

I have been waiting for Swope to officially release the Wrayman forever. He has been focusing on the proprietary Descendent vibrato he is using on them before he updates his guitar lineup. I have an MG and a Geronimo, and they are two of the best guitars I have ever played.

Here are mine. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index ... o.2042794/
