I would love to see them do a Jazzmaster with pearl blocks on maple, like a ‘70s J-Bass.

I don't really like blocks unless perhaps they are made of a "special" material, otherwise they just look a bit cheap. What are avoidable straight lines doing on a guitar anyway? Should be kept to a minimum eg strings, frets & pickups (kinda)
Curves and contours thanks!

well, they are priced like the recent us standard models, but i wouldnt pay that much. i think it would be better if they would produce in mexico and sell it for less than a grand...tealsixtysix wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 3:03 amMade in US, nitro finish, and I think US pricing on all of these is either $1799 or $1899.RandyRandom wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 2:22 amanybody already know how much they are going to ask for? and where they make it? I like the Meteora body shape quite a bit actually. However I agree with alot of posters who would like to see some options. I would love to see a humbucker model and some alternate color options. Being bored today i mocked up a few color options i would love to see, or wish they would at least explore.

Well, one of your mockups was at NAMM in 2012.spectredude wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 11:01 pmI like the Meteora body shape quite a bit actually. I totally forgot that this was also shown in 2012.
It looks like it took them 5 years to bring the Meteora from prototype to real model, and they changed...nothing.
Edit: Ugh. These are on the first page of the thread. Massive brain fart...

That black mockup with the current model hardware is AMAZING. I wish they made one of these!

Yeah, the main problem is that they tried to make them look too much like a Tele. If they'd done like Leo always did and used older designs as a jumping off point for new designs instead of just copying aesthetics, these would be much less lame.

I have to admit I really like the 2012 NAMM prototype. It just looks so mean with no pickups visible, kind of like a those early Dodge Chargers with headlights behind the grill.
Anyone happen to know if there actually were pickups under the pickguard, and if so, what kind?

I really like this model. I posted a thread about it yesterday before it was pointed out to me that there already was one. Not so mad on some of the other concoctions in the Parallel Universe series though. But then I do like crazy designs. Aside from it having an uncharacteristically boring headstock as has been pointed out elsewhere in the thread, I could totally play this! To be honest, the price bracket is way out of my means. I was a little disappointed they discontinued the Pawn Shop range. I was coveting an Offset Special in Shell Pink or a 72 in Surf Green for a while but now can’t find them anywhere. Mustang with splittable humbuckers was also quite appealing (although on a Mustang I’d want the Mustang trem). These are more expensive and actually a lot less exciting - apart from the Meteora although that’s because of its goofy aesthetic more than its unoriginal (but totally classic) pickup config.

I finally realized what looks so awkward about this.
Fender put non-Fender-spec block inlays on this thing!
Look at that first fret. Normally the width looks like this:
Instead, the Meteora has a narrower inlay like the cheap Chinese-made imitation necks on eBay/Reverb:

I'd love to see someone photoshop one of these with a Jazzmaster trem & an XII headstock (not necessarily together).
We are merely moving shadows.

Put a rosewood board on a sparkle red, serious MOP inlays and by god, I can see Bo Diddley playing one. Bo Diddley is a gunslinger. Bo Diddley is cool

I also wonder since we still have quite a few months until is released (November I believe) we might see a few more changes to it. Maybe not as I am unsure of production lead times on something like this but I got the impression that this Guitar was still being tinkered with a bit. I noticed the headstock doesn’t say meteora either . Maybe they are still working on it ? I dunno

Anyone know anything about the bridge on this model? Looks very close the G&L DFV idea...
