WD Brushed Gold Pickguard

Post by Jazzbastard89 » Thu Jul 20, 2017 9:03 am

Hey there,

I know WD doesn't make anodized Gold guards, but has anyone tried their brushed gold guard? Does it look good? Do you have pictures of yours?

Thanks!

I bought one for a Classic Player Jazzmaster. Looked nice enough and seemed durable, but I took it off before it ever got a real test. The sunburst on my Jazzmaster is very dark and quite reddish, and it didn't look to hot with the faux gold. I doubt it would have looked better with the real thing.

I reckon if you really want gold and this is your only way to get there, you'll be fine and happy.

A friend of mine ordered one of those for his Telecaster. We both thought it looked pretty craptastic. :k

I have the WD brush gold on a black JM blacktop. I was hoping it would be a yellow gold, but it's more so a green gold. I'm not overly thrilled with the color, but it does the job. The fit & quality is good.

There are a few WD gold guards. The gold mirror, brushed gold and one other. Which is the best?

Do you have any photos of the pickguard on the guitar?

I've only tried the brushed gold, so I can't answer which is best. Dunno if the pics will show, I'm not technologically gifted.

Was hoping it would look like this.

you know what, that's not too bad! i was expecting it to look much more plastic-y and just cheaper in general.

Maybe the tint/colour classic gold, but it looks pretty decent IMO.
