I mean what's so special about For Sale or Trade? Surely there's no post count high enough to prevent the constant stream of trollish guff littering the board's golden section these days. Disallowing just anyone from posting there might improve the situation no end.

I don't hate the idea. I find it strange when new members join a guitar forum and within their first five posts are knee deep in some controversial thread (or starting one). It feels a little like when a stranger asks if he can use your bathroom, it's just weird.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

I dunno if I feel a pressing need to erect giant locky gates around Misc Discussions. Most people are reasonably well-behaved there, and I think it's important that OSG maintain an inclusive, encouraging attitude toward new blood.

However, if an individual reveals himself/herself to be a contentious troll with a fascistic agenda... much like a mean child with a stick, looking to break up the OSG anthill... I'd hope the Mods would feel free to preserve the forum's integrity by kicking the offending fucker right off the damn island.

I forgot how it all went, but wasn't it tied to the postcount that would get one in the For Sale section?

Yes, the reason being that we didn't want people signing up just to sell something.



We prefer they post-pad their way to 50 and then sell it.
