Re: OSG site slow to respond?
thanks for your work, Luau!
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

Hopefully luau doesn't also do work for Squier-Talk and Strat-Talk cuz those have been down all day... That would be stressful!

Re: OSG site slow to respond?
Reading OSG right now is kinda like communicating with a Mars rover.
But I also remember in the ‘80s I was trying to figure out how guitars worked by staring real hard at the advertisements in Guitar Player. It’s all a matter of perspective, right?

Re: OSG site slow to respond?
Sure thing.
I'd much rather have something down all the way instead of something that's just slow. Things aren't going well with Digital Ocean's support. "Oh, your site is just slow. You should optimize it."

Sounds like PowerSchool's support engineers... 🤪luau wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:55 pmSure thing.

I wish I were more knowledgeable on the network/web side of things, but the waterfall graphs I've pulled make me think it has something to do with the SSL functions, like fetching the certificate.

It is reminding me of dial up days. Click a link and wait. (Don’t click it again or it restarts the process. Just sit and look at it. If the page times out, then refresh and wait.) A nostalgic piece of my childhood right here. LOL

Re: OSG site slow to respond?
I'm having flashbacks to the old Fender Discussion Page. The only difference is cooler people and more pictures. I'm waiting 2 minutes for a picture of an MIJ Jazzmaster to load, like it's 20 years ago

Re: OSG site slow to respond?
That's a name I haven't thought about in some time. That was earliest guitar forum I remember being really active on. Lots of good discussion to be had there, but like a dumb early 20-something, I ran afoul of the main admin and ended up being banned in 2004 or 05. I moved onto greener pastures after that.

Re: OSG site slow to respond?
Am I the only one who's been having OSG loading problems?
It crashes, takes ages to load, then works fine for a couple of minutes, then crashes again.
Cellphone and PC same thing.
Help?

Re: OSG site slow to respond?
I merged your thread with an already existing one.
The site has been going through this about a week or so. Luau is trying to get it sorted but no luck yet.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Re: OSG site slow to respond?
So, I dunno if this is somehow related or ano odd problem cropping up at the same time but I've been getting logged out a bunch lately. That's on all three devices I use (home desktop, work desktop, Pixel 6 Pro).luau wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:55 pmSure thing.

Is the server going weird and it's not a network issue?
