I bought my Yamaha SG-3 a couple months ago and I still haven't been able to find a replacement saddle adjustment screw for the low E String. It's a slotted head style and its about half the size of a more modern Hex head saddle screw.
Anyone have a resource in finding a vintage or NOS replacement? Any specific measurements to find an exact replacement? I don't care if I have to replacement all, for them all to be the same. I just want it to be complete.
Any info/help would be great.
Thanks
Daniel

Re: Yamaha SG-3 bridge saddle issue
Since it's Japanese, it's most likely to be metric. A standard Strat saddle height screw is 4-40 UNC thread which has an external diameter of 0.112" or ~2.85mm. The Yamaha screw is a wee bit smaller so will probably be an M2.5 thread.

Re: Yamaha SG-3 bridge saddle issue
I believe Cbrown option is the best solution.
For my SG-2, I had a missing bridge saddle screw and I made one with a TOM saddle screw, cuting the top and making the "place" for the screw driver (don't know how to name it in english).

Re: Yamaha SG-3 bridge saddle issue
If you have a Dremel or similar tool, all you need to do is buy a stainless screw of the right metric diameter, machine or metal screw, with a flat tip not a point - take the saddle to the hardware store to (carefully) test if the thread fits. Then use the Dremel to cut a slot in the tip, to the right depth, and then cut the screw off at the right length.

Did you sort this out Ironheart?
I recently made one.
I'd be happy to do another if you are still in need.

Hey Artslap. I actually just ordered a set of adjustment screws yesterday. Thank you very much though. Appreciate the help/consideration from you and everyone.
