Fender might not want it as an article but I'd thing vintage guitar or tone report et al would.

They might just mail a book on types of wood worms along with a letter explaining why you should not store your Fender in the barn.

Or they might be upset to see that despite so much attention they pay to finishing their guitars, this can occur.
I mean these guitars were finished in poly no ? What is the chance for a worm the pierce it ?
They were probably already in the wood

I would definitely do this! Probably not feasible without theft but would be great to get these on actual x-ray transparency and have it frame. Or better yet make a framed light-box!

Light box would be crazy cool, or even better, a few of these LED trace pads.

There's plenty of unfinished sections for them to bore into though.
