Thanks!
I have now reassembled the guitar, and man it weights quite a bit more. Think about 500g went in there!
Doc sez he can do the x-rays/scan Next week, so I gotta meet 'em to hand the guitar over these days.
It will look much cooler assembled! Stay tuned!

sorry folks, but do not fear, for i shall see the doc today, to hand the guitar over.
it WILL be done and the pics WILL be posted.

MUST do it now, since i've decided to (hold it...)

...Bigsby this guitar!

call me crazy, love or hate me for it (or any other reason), but since the "collector's value" is in the basement for this one anyway, i might as well make it as gigable for myself as possible.

so the amazing FenderBob is sending me this:
Image

now all i need to get is:
- thimbles (any specific model or advice here?)
- and maybe someone who does it for me. or not. there's 2 vids on youtube that explain it pretty good.

so stay tuned for updates!

btw, the guitar is now playing and working all a-ok, and i LOVE the neck! i've HATED all the other Teles i've played, but there's something about this one. with the Bigsby it will be in the to-be-rocked-herd 100% and that excites me SO much. finally. :w00t:

it needs to have the 3-way switch replaced (the treble position always "springs" back automatically...?), the pots cleaned a bit maybe, and the nut slots cut down properly (put a fender bone nut on it - it used to just have some plastic stick in there).
and the Bix.

hell yeah! ;D

You sure you want to go the whole hog and drill into that body? A vibramate option might be more structurally wise?

I have visions of going for that wobbly shimmer and ending up with two separate pieces of guitar, neck in one hand, bigsby handle in he other and decayed splinters in between.

Oh! the humanity!

Scan/pics have been made.
He will now try to convert them to a usable format. I haven't seen em, but he says it's like swiss cheese. Oops. :bored:

I must admit, I've secretly been hoping these pictures would materialise soon.

Could be the OSG highlight of 2016! :freako:

Can't believe you're gonna drill into it! I'd be nervous to BREATHE near it!
