Pat have you checked for radiation damage from the Crackho'? I'd imagine guitars made of ordinary matter would gradually be burned away if stored too close.

every time I see this thread, I'm reminded how desperate I am to see x-rays of the wormage

Has it happened yet?

I have never even seen (or heard of) a guitar with woodworm before this thread.

OK so i re-assembled her today. cuz the guy said he'd do it but he'd like it to be complete, so he can look/feel cool when walking into the hospital... :-[
Image

both the body and neck still sound like one of those "water sticks", when you move it you can hear all the "sand" in there.
well i started shaking the neck like crazy and ...well it wasn't sand what came out, mostly... :wtf:

dried up fuckers. all over the place.
i don't have any allen keys here (yet), but i wanna take out the truss rod and see if i can empty it.
really need to see the x-rays of the neck to see how much is left there. i haven't applied wood filler on the neck cuz i'm afraid i'd "freeze in" the truss rod.

on the body i did a good job i think. the color of the filler is almost the same as the color, so it's barely noticeable. but i'll need to apply more in some spots, where i'm not too sure.

if i find big "empty" patches under the finish, i'll drill a small hole in there to insert the injection and fill it.
i'm especially worried about the neck pocket.

:bored:

so stay tuned.

No those are the empty pupae - meaning that the moths which lay the eggs which hatch the wood borers, have matured and flown out, to lay eggs. I hope that didn't happen near any other guitars, or furniture.

This is good stuff, I've never used it on a guitar however I used to own a sign shop and used it for many of the stated uses in brochure with positive results.

sounds like a possible album cover. snap the pic of him holding the guitar before entering radiology.

i mean, the seller told me it was left at his uncle's (iirc?) house for ages.
but i pray those fuckers were really all dead when she came to me... :bored:
