Worth it? 66 melody maker

The thing has neck repair and some weirdness to the finishing. Could this be worth $600? Maybe with possible mods?

It's a close call. For not a lot more money you can get one that is in better shape. On the other hand, though, it's a great and rare finish, that Maestro could be sold for $200 or so on its own, and if the headstock repair is solidly done (I can't tell) then it's not much of an issue as a player's guitar.

It's an OK price. It's probably a cool guitar.

Good call. I'd like one of those some day.

I don't know much about headstock breaks, but I can't tell from the ad if it had a neck repair or needs a neck repair.

I would be all over that like a rash. The best colour, super easy repair if it hasn't been done already, and like Larry said if you decided to do a bit of a cashback option you could lose the trem and have a perfectly useable and very hip guitar for 400 (or 350 if what you mean above is that they would accept 550)

Those are great guitars, and that was a good price. If it were a two pickup model in that color, and no neck issues, it would be worth 3 times as much. But at that price, you could even mod it with a P-90 and still never lose any money. The necks on those are just awesome.

Pelham blue :?

Even with a neck break that would be £600 at least over here.

And Ta-da: $ 550 firm instead of $ 600.
