I think I might have seen that plate in the for sale section a couple of months ago, I don't how I ended up with it but I'm very happy.
It looks very good in person and I really like how it looks on the guitar too...it's very less shiny than usual chrome plates and it suits me :

Hm, it looks cool in it's own way but I'd not leave it as it is with all the dirt and rust (?) on it.
Do this plate a favor and clean it with a sponge (or aluminum foil) and Coke ! Yes, Coke! You will be surprised how it will look afterwards!!!
Start with a sponge and you will probably not even need aluminum foil!

Not so much rust on the plate, just some dirt.
But, ok, I'll try this tomorrow, and be sure I'll let you know what I think about this combo ;)

NPupsD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marc did an incredibly fast job with those.
They are beautiful, I bet they will sound awesome!!

I put pics of the opening, I know it isn't really fascinating, but it is a really nice packaging, did with great care and cute as hell, in a "treasure discovering" way

I'll try to find some time to solder things today...

But I'm kind of >:( , the saddles and the knobs are not arrived yet, they both are a week late :squint:
Anyway, the good thing is that I thought about buying strings :D

The guitar is all wired up, I did the screw driver test on top of the pickup covers and everything seem to be ok/fine.

yay! looks good! Especially the combination of white PU covers and switches with the white tuner buttons!
What type of knobs are you putting on it?

Yes, I'm happy with how it looks...but the white is too much white.
I guess I'll manage to aged them quickly!!!

As for the knobs I went for white strat styles knobs with red metallic tops.
I don't know if it will look good...if not I'll go with white or red Coronado knobs...but I don't know where to source them

Well...
The knobs I've ordered are an epic failure.
Don't fit, much creamer than white and the red top is actually pretty not very red, some shade of pink...
They are really great looking, but not for that guitar.

I've ordered white witch hat knobs...keep it simple!!

The guitar is done, if it wasn't for the knobs.

And she's GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!
She plays heavenly, she is beautiful (to me), she is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesoooooooooooooooooooooooonaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant, and the pickups are incredidle.
The guitar is so warm, so gutsy, gravy and muddy, so alive, so...perfect :D !!!!

Needs a proper intonation though, but I couldn't wait ;) .

Pics now!!!

Image

The color is between those two photos (I really can't take good pictures to faithfully pay tribute to that dakota red...I'm waiting for sunny days!!!)

I'll put a pic with the knobs before saying the guitar is completed.

I know
I'll try to record something soon, with both the Jag and the DS.
But I'm kind of shy, it could take some time!!

:D

Soon, P...soon

Actually I have a new plan for that one:
as I bought the OW Mustang body, I will order some Tele pickups rehoused in Mustang pickups to put them into the DS...then I will put the Mustang set (which is currently in the DS) into the Mustang  :w00t:

New Pickups Day!!!

I received the Mustang set with Tele specs for the DS and the original '66 MM pickup I sent to Marc for a rewind :w00t:

New color:

And new packaging:

I think I'll manage to find some time this week-end for those two guitars.
The MM is so soon to be completed.
The DS however still needs the right knobs...I'll order them tonight I guess ;) .

I can't wait for you to report how it sounds! That's a beauty :? :? :?
The red guard works so well with red! I think I could try this on my Mustang if I decide to swap the guard.
