Great idea
carron wrote:If you have a black ply pickguard with the white bevel strip, it really ties the guitar together. Black goes great with the tort control plates, the white bevel would be enough to delineate the pickguard outline upper right edge against the black worn finish, and the bevel would tie well with the parchment pickup covers and fingerboard dot inlays. But looks are subjective of course, so whatever rocks your boat. This guitar is looking great to me though, and how you had it originally, with the plain parchment pickguard looked great too.
Yep, you're right.
And what about a 1 ply black pickguard, to match the 1 ply plates??

Ok, I have to think now  :D

The neverending quest for the right pickguard...it drives me nuts :fp:

Ok then,
I've just received a cheap chinese black pickguard:

I guess it looks fine, but as I've never loved black pickguards I think I just have to adjust myself to it.

Anyway,
Will see how long it'll take me until I order a new one :D

Looks cool! Still think black anodized would look even classier.

It would mean a bit of weight gain, but would you consider a polished stainless steel guard, or chromed steel/brass sheet if you were really going for it?

Oh, and fantastic pair of builds, by the way! :w00t:

I think,
I mean I really feel,
And really think,
That this pickguard is the right one.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally found the time to cut that pickguard out of a blank brass sheet, it took me quite some time and efforts (and adjustments too!!!) but it turned out great.
I think it does fit the overall look extremly well.
The brass pickguard is obviously heavier than the others I had on this guitar, it obviously add some weight then...but I really don't care...the guitar looks so good :D

The guitar is finally done 8) .
