I can confirm that acetone worked really well to glue the pearloid pickguard - though, since the black layer melted too, the joint will probably show up as a greyish line when I buff out the repair. ...I'll post some pictures when I don't forget my phone at home.

Yep, the glue line shows. ...though the pickguard is kinda rough, so I'm okay with some flaws. I suppose super glue would have been a more invisible repair, but I like the strength of the melted-together joint created by acetone.
