They look great, although I gotta say, in my book, a Mustang ain't a Mustang unless the pickups are blackrexter wrote:

You can use either acrylic/poly or nitro white primer. The two types of paint adhere well together, so use which ever you fancy. Acrylic would be a lot easier.Tisacsson wrote: Im gonna prime the body with white primer, but i dont now what kind of primer
I can use! Is there someone who can give me an answer to this?
I have only used polycolors before. And i dont think i can use that kind of
Primer. Am i right?
I've had a look at a few 64 mustangs, and they all seem to have a white coat underneath daphne unlike earlier production runs which often didn't bother with priming, or else used yellow stains. Here's a photo showing the primer;

Re: Fender Mustang 1964 Restoration!
Long time writing, I've been waiting to buy a neck. Finally got one!
I changed my mind about the blue color, i decided to go for shell pink instead, because its hot=)
also did a matching headstock, 2 coats of shell pink so far.

Hello gentlemen!
Fender Mustang decal is applied on the headstock! i will lacquer it and use wet paper between coats to make the decal invisible.
