From Angela:

44. Fender Jazzmaster/Jaguar vibrato/whammy unit mouting screws. Oval phillips head, nickel plated steel. GENUINE FENDER USA. EACH $1, TWELVE FOR $7.

they suck on international shipping though - maybe a fellow US resident forumite can help you out? (or if you have more stuff to buy - shipping is the same from them)
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Or last ones on this page: http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/scre ... unting.htm

You'll have to buy 2 sets. you need 6, a set is 5 screws.

I may have to place an order soon (it depends on the results of bids on eBay), maybe we could arrange something.  ;)

sadly we couldn't get to match the big cbs style headstock greco neck to align properly without widening the neck pocket or trimming down the neck heel,
so i just slammed on the avri neck the body came with in the first place, so it looks less mustang-ish, but what the hell.

tried a few variations yesterday...

w/ comp stripe & bluebox knobs:

no stripes

choices, choices...
major kudos to dr.z for providing me with the aged guard and roller knob screws!!!

Wow that looks gorgeous.

If the stripes were a little more orange I'd say stick with them.

I actually prefer it without I think. I'd love to see it in person as each picture looks a different colour to the next. Which would you say is the closest?

Also (& I'm probably on my own here) I love the barrel knobs. It gives it a unique look. Obviously if you want it Mustangy then go with the black ones.

Great work mate!!

thanks!

closest to the original color are the first two pics... i have some "color management" issues here
since i installed CS2, and each time i connect a cam or open a graphics app, it's giving me warnings
and everything looks totally different in each app. sigh.

i felt the same about the comp. stripe's (decal) colors, so i removed them. also, i felt that with a big
headstock as a visual counterpart the whole guitar would have had a more balanced appearance, but
with the stark red stripes and everything that's already happening on the body, it looked terribly wrong.

did a quick setup and it's super-chimey sounding, maybe due to the old body wood. it's a lot closer to
my '63 than the swamp ash body i used with the neck previously. we'll see how it behaves with the DR
this saturday. njam njam.

all in all, it's kind of flashy, but somewhat less than with sparkle finish or such...

I'd say - no stripes - jag knobs.
