You didn't try the Molotow ones yet, then?

Do you think the cracking is because you used a nitro-cellulose sanding sealer and the cans are synthetic?
I just had a quick scout around on google and it seems the nitro-combi and nitro-alkyd formulations are not related to nitrocellulose.
I think for these colours to work you'd need a poly/synthetic sealer and primer (like fullerplast?). The old nitro-over-poly but not poly-over-nitro problem.

I guess that's the problem. I have so many things to do at the moment I hardly find the time to get it sorted out. Another strange thing is, i sprayed some of the stuff onto plastic, and it just comes loose like nothing I've ever seen.

Oh sorry I overlooked this post... no, not yet. I had the other stuff sitting around already, so I didn't bother ordering the Molotows yet.theworkoffire wrote: You didn't try the Molotow ones yet, then?

I don't think they'll be any better, to be honest. Certainly not over nc sealer.

I'm afraid you're right. I'll have to let it sit for a while anyway, cause I have almost to no spare time at the mo - maybe it'll all have flaked off neatly next time I find the time to go into the workshop, and stripping the sealer will be a cakewalk.

okay went over the orange with 1000 grit last night. looks decent. some real minor dings and scratches from handling - will the clearoat make these less or even more visible? really don't feel like shooting any more orange again.

With a well done clear coat job (3 layers/drying/wetsanding/3 layers/drying/wetsanding...until you're satisfied) will make the scratches/dings disappear.FUZZ_KING wrote: okay went over the orange with 1000 grit last night. looks decent. some real minor dings and scratches from handling - will the clearoat make these less or even more visible? really don't feel like shooting any more orange again.

...but wouldn't it be nice with "orange peel" feel to the colour you've choosen?

No it's not me ! Do I sound as crazy as this ?? :-\
What's amaze me in this video is the guy only realize he risked his life afterward.. I guess it would not have been a ig loss if the shooter had missed the target: the guy already has no brain.

Jesus. I have a bow like this and i'm pretty sure an arrow shot from such a distance would easily penetrate your skull. we only shoot at politician's election posters - which is a lot of fun, actually.k o y l wrote: Really ? It looks like a lot of fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yC_s6kqOyM
that eases my mind a bit - i might start clearcoating tonight, depending on how late (if ever) i get out of the office. that clear nitro is really great to work with.the older brother wrote:

I spoke to a luthier last weekend who uses the Molotows to good results. He just pries the cans open and fills the lacquer in his spray gun. I think I'll let him do the paint job on the korina body.theworkoffire wrote: You didn't try the Molotow ones yet, then?

It's still better to see this than to see no orange at all...the older brother wrote:FUZZ_KING wrote: orange peel: when in my age, you've see enough of it already
