Yeah I don't think I'll try to fill in anyway the routing. I don't care that much about that.

As for the pickguard there are only two extra holes that are somewhat hidden by the bridge so yeah I was lucky on that one !

I have the shielding for the volume/switch/tone/output cavity but the others are missing.
I also have the one under the pickguard.

Copper tape works ?
Tons on ebay so any of those should do ?

Also, I might end up selling the original bridge as I have a mastery waiting to be put on this guitar once it's done and really intend on keeping it as my main guitar.
Any market for those ?

I think I paid a little too much but I'm quite sure in the end I'll be a really really happy guy !

copper tape works. OR you can get some Fender US AVRI shielding quite cheap (but I think it won't fit 100% w/o any adjustments).
OR you buy some overpriced original shielding on ebay (I wouldn't do that) but it depends on what you want in terms of accuracy.

How much is much? I'm assuming you got it for a good price and the neck alone (with original tuners etc.) is worth at least 1.5k in that great condition!

No, it's alder. I had to look twice too. Alder is occasionally very grainy but it doesn't have the "dots and dashes" like ash. The pores are much tighter. Also, those long black lines that look like random pencil marks are characteristic of alder.

What sort of humbuckers you have in there? They look like they might be good for teh metalz, I could be interested in those...

Yeah that's what I'm going for.
Although the wood is really nice and I'm startin to like it that way I'm more traditional in my guitars.

And YES THAT NECK IS AWESOME !

The pu's are dimarzio paf pro dp151 and are probably sold now but if the deal falls through I'll let you know.

looking great! The grain on that body is wonderful. Definitely better than most.

I wouldn't touch it with any sandpaper though...so as to not risk compromising the contours. Just put another round of stripper on it and use a plastic spatula to get all of the paint off. Then use some naptha on a rag to wipe it clean. Decide on the color and contact Danocaster for the refin. I'd probably go with transparent blonde on this one...like the 50's tele blonde.

Been busy the last weeks but just managed to finish sanding it this afternoon.
Now I know it was sunburst at first (found traces around the thimbles), sanded, painted green and at then painted blue.

I wrote to Dan and he said there was no need to sand more since it's going to be olympic white.
Anyway the green paint runs really deep in the wood and I don't want to alter the shape in any way.

Also, the thimbles had been glued really well in the holes and Dan suggested to just let a soldering iron sit in there for a while and then pull them out.
It worked like a charm !!!
