No, it's alder. I had to look twice too. Alder is occasionally very grainy but it doesn't have the "dots and dashes" like ash. The pores are much tighter. Also, those long black lines that look like random pencil marks are characteristic of alder.

I got one getting refin'd by Dano too at the moment, though I probably have much longer to wait than you.

It's slowly coming together now.
In the end it needed a refret and one of the pickup I bought needed a rewind.
I bought a 1964 pickup set so I'm happy about that.
The refin is killer seriously !
Worth the money !
