I know the use of oxalid acid on wood to clear/clean it , but the fretboard would still be scaloped, and I don't want it to be.MatthewK wrote:You're a brave guy!
One suggestion - use oxalic acid solution on the "dirty" parts of the scalloping. It should bleach the wood back to its natural colour. That way you can sand it less before refretting.

When removing the nut, after cutting the varnish with a blade, a small part of wood left behind the nut ...
So let's glue it...
Start to work on the fingerboard, which is thick and won't need to glue some more wood on it to level the surface.
Some dots left, not enough material left after planing the fingerboard. I will replace them soon.
Some small marks of scaloping left, but might disapear with the final sanding.
I've tried to plane the fingerboard removing less wood as possible, trying to keep the original radius :
