I would never have come up with "Tort on Pink" all by myself, but it works really well and looks great. If you're going for a unique look, that would be it. If you get bored with the Tort you could always put a black guard on it, as "Black on Pink" is a great combo as well.

So I now have an early '64 (Jan.) neck for this guitar and it's really nice! I got it from enormous. I'm now almost ready to prep the body for a paint job. It's kinda cool the way it is but it would be awesome refin'd.
I don't think i'm gonna do pink because I'm making another JM for my g/f (white blonde ash Novak body). I don't think I could pull off a pink guitar on stage... 5 years ago no problem. I dunno...
maybe some sort of blue (the anti-pink ) After getting that refin'd '64 Jaguar body in Sunburst, I'm kinda thinking about SB for this one too... My first JM was a 1960 Sunburst. I miss it dearly. It now lives in Australia and spends most of it's time in a recording studio so it's doing okay.
Anyway, The 'new' neck on this one is really great. The best part is that it's pretty much a quartersawn neck!

I love Dakota/ tortoise. Here is my refinned May '62:Jay wrote: If you're considering red, Dakota looks great with a tortoise guard. I'd also suggest Burgundy Mist/Tortoise as a pretty sweet combo. You could even have a cool target burst done. I love mid 60's bursts as much as anything.
